Federal Compliance Auditing Program

Employing a safety consultant to perform a DOT compliance review gives you an opportunity to review your DOT compliance from a completely objective, unbiased perspective.  The DOT auditor will have the same perspective when performing an official audit.  Our compliance review process covers the full spectrum of items that will be audited. It will include driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing records and policies, driver daily logs and Hours of Service records, vehicle inspection and maintenance records, training records, accident record keeping and  insurance records.  A comprehensive summary report will be provided after the review and recommendations are made for implementing immediate corrective action to bring your company into compliance.

DOT Safety Group offers two different types of Mock DOT Compliance Reviews.  The first type is  for smaller fleets, generally less than 10 drivers.  You would forward all records that are required and the review would be performed in our offices.  Upon completion, 1 week, the records and your summary report will be forwarded to you.

The following areas will be reviewed for compliance: 

  Driver qualification files    

  Driver daily logs/Hours of Service records

  Drug and alcohol testing records, policies and procedures

  Accident records  

  Vehicle inspection and maintenance records 

  Company policies/insurance

  Training being provided

Our second type is an actual on-site audit by DOT Safety Group.  We would review the same information as above except.  The benefit to us being at your location is that we will also provide training to your personnel in areas we feel are deficient.  We will also communicate, person to person,  our findings along with written recommendations for assuring your future compliance with all DOT regulations.
